I am grateful for the opportunity to combine my passion for missions and counseling at Tumaini Counseling Center. I specialize in providing couples counseling and trauma care. A verse that became dear to me is 2 Cor. 1: 3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Out of God's work in my life, I developed a longing early on to extend Christian counseling to other believers who felt broken so that they might thrive where God had placed them.

But what do counseling and missions have to do with each other? I was not sure either until I realized how vital it is for missionaries to maintain emotional, interpersonal, and spiritual health if they are going to carry on in the work God called them to.

The magnitude of stressors facing missionaries is daunting, and they need help to remain resilient. So I was delighted to learn about the opportunity to use my professional experience as a licensed counselor at Tumaini Counseling Center in Nairobi, Kenya.

Tumaini exists to "provide preventative and restorative mental health services and pastoral care in order to enhance missionary resilience and fruitfulness."
