Maybel Achiaa

I was born in Kumasi, Ghana and came to the states when I was five. I praise the Lord that I grew up in a Christian household and I also praise Him for the continuous knocking on my heart to abide in Him. I now get the amazing chance to step out in faith and abide in Him by yielding to His call!

As an aspiring Clinical Mental Health Counselor, partnering with AIM at their Tumaini Counseling Centre is such a blessing. This summer, I will be in Nairobi, Kenya, learning and also ministering to people needing mental health services as they too minister unto others. I truly believe that we are supposed to bear each other's burdens and bring it to the cross and this is what Tumaini does so well.

Tumaini in Swahili means hope. Without hope, the world we live in would be such a dark place. However, Jesus came to show us that there is light - WE are the light! The calling is heavy, which is why the care for the people who accept that calling is so needed!

“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it"
(1 Corinthians 12:27).
