At Kenya Kids Can, we have learned to never underestimate the importance of food in the life of a child. Year after year of failed rains has made food scarce in Northern Kenya. In 2020, KKC started serving daily school lunch to over a thousand students in the town of Kalacha. As the drought continued, headteachers at several nearby schools invited us to visit to better understand the challenges they face. What we saw was sobering: thin herds of livestock, barren landscapes, and classrooms of quiet, hungry children. In response, we’ve launched our lunch program at three additional schools in the region. Your recurring gift of $25/month will feed 15 children every school day. Our goal is to generate recurring donations to bring the 1,450 students at these schools into our program long-term. Thank you for helping us nourish and care for children in Northern Kenya.
