Sara Black

Sara Black will be working as a missionary teacher with Acacia International School in Kampala, Uganda.  Sara has a passion to equip the children and young adults of the next generation to love and serve God. Providing a quality education is the primary focus for Sara’s ministry.  She desires to demonstrate how to live for God in all aspects of her life. Service within and outside of the transitional classroom will be her mode of ministry.

This is Sara’s third opportunity to serve in Africa.  In the spring of 2005 Sara joined the Peace Corps serving as a health volunteer in Kinole, Tanzania. She was able to teach about clean water, malaria prevention, as well as HIV and AIDS prevention.  While serving as a volunteer she was able to attend the local church in the village. Her heart grew to love the people and culture of East Africa and her desire was to continue to impact East Africa after her service with the Peace Corps was completed.  As she left this assignment in the fall of 2007, she felt the call to continue to minister in Africa. So on her way home to Idaho she stopped off to visit Rift Valley Academy.

By the fall of 2009 Sara was on her way to minister to missionary children at Rift Valley Academy in Kijabe, Kenya. She served as a middle and high school math and history teacher until the summer of 2012. While at RVA she enjoyed assisting students in ministry each Sunday morning at the Kijabe hospital (Bethany Kids). Her desire is to disciple young people into a deep love for God and to share that love through acts of service to those around us.

While Sara has been state side since the summer of 2012 she has been able to further her education earning a Masters in Education emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. Sara was also able to assist her mom as she battled and later lost her battle with cancer. Service to others has been a continuing focus for Sara. She is excited about how God will use her in her new assignment at Acacia International School in Uganda.

Receiving Regions

AIM works in more than 20 African countries, including some islands of the Indian Ocean, and in other countries around the globe where ethnic Africans have settled. Our work is divided into five regions: Eastern, Central, Southern, Northern, and Diaspora Ministries.
