David and Tessa met on a TIMO team in Torit, South Sudan in 2019. Now, they are married and serving in Adjumani together, along with their young children. David and Tessa lived in South Sudan for five years before making the decision to move to Adjumani, in Northen Uganda. In this new location, they still work primarily with South Sudanese, as there are refugees both living in the town as well as the surrounding refugee camps.
The primary way David and Tessa serve is by sharing the word of God and building relationships with those around them. In Adjumani, there is already an established church. A large part of the ministry there is working with believers in the local church. The desire is to see the church gain a more Biblical foundation and a more missional mindset. What a joy to see South Sudanese believers reaching their own unreached people groups!
Apart from sharing from the Bible the community around them, there are other types of ministries to be involved in. David has a passion for agriculture and desires to use this to build lasting and impactful relationships for the glory of Christ's name. David is also involved with TEE - which involves discipling church leaders in the Word of God. Tessa hopes to get involved in literacy training, teaching people to read and write in their own language so that they too can read the Word of God.
"Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well." - 1 Thessalonians 2:8
