David and Tessa met on a TIMO team in Torit, South Sudan in 2019. Now, they are married and serving in South Sudan together! They live among the Laarim people group, a rural tribe located in the Boya Hills of South Sudan. Their passion is to see a thriving body of believers grow in this place where the Gospel has not yet taken root.
The primary way David and Tessa serve is by sharing the word of God. This is done initially through building relationships and learning the language, which allows them to then hold Bible studies at various homes throughout the community.
They also wish to disciple the small number of believers that are present amongst the Laarim.
Apart from sharing from the Bible, David and Tessa both hope to get involved in literacy training, teaching people to read and write in their own language so that they too can read the Word of God. They also foresee getting involved in the local school as a way to build relationships and make further connections in the community.
David has a passion for agriculture and desires to use this to build lasting and impactful relationships for the glory of Christ's name. "Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well." - 1 Thessalonians 2:8
