Chip and Becky Carter's love for missionary kids made their ministry at Rift Valley Academy a perfect fit! Prior to returning to the US, the couple served at RVA, a school of roughly 500 students representing more than two dozen nationalities, in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Most of the students are children of missionaries. RVA enables missionaries to remain in Africa by providing quality education in a nurturing environment for their children. Becky taught at the school for six years as a single missionary, and returned with Chip and their three children in 2003. Chip, a nurse, worked in the school's infirmary while Becky taught first grade. Beyond these primary responsibilities, they found ample opportunities to invest in kids' lives. From one-on-one mentoring to sharing pizza dinners to leading large group fun, the Carters purpose at RVA was to point students to Christ.
