Joel and LaReina King

Joel and LaReina King serve with AIM AIR at the Lokichoggio base in Northern Kenya. Joel is a pilot/mechanic and Base Manager; the Loki Base strategically located 30 km from the South Sudan border to support missionaries and mission organizations in South Sudan. The team of three AIM AIR families live on a common compound, working closely together to provide hospitality for incoming pilots and missionaries, and also spiritual community for each other.

LaReina home-schools their children, Renee and Ian, and also teaches a weekly Bible Study with a local group of women. As Loki is a small, economically depressed village within the Turkana people group, we have actively engaged in the needs of the community. From celebrating with and helping our church slowly build their new church building as funds trickle in, to vetting student fee requests and developing relationships with youths, part of our ministry is navigating specific roles God has for us.

Although Loki's desert landscape provides difficult living conditions at times, rewards are huge. We celebrate successes with towns-people, and grieve together. We partner closely with our South Sudan missionaries and also share in their joys and trials. We have found that God's peace and guidance has abundantly surpassed any trial.

Mobilizing Offices

AIM is a global organization comprised of both sending and receiving entities. Each sending country is home to a Mobilizing Office, and this is the first place of contact for engaging with AIM. Find the Mobilizing Office nearest you to learn more about opportunities to serve or partner with AIM.

Receiving Regions

AIM works in more than 20 African countries, including some islands of the Indian Ocean, and in other countries around the globe where ethnic Africans have settled. Our work is divided into five regions: Eastern, Central, Southern, Northern, and Diaspora Ministries.
