After learning French in France Sam along with a Short-Term summer missionary drove his 1977 4X4 Ford Pick-up truck for one month from France traversing the Sahara desert (via Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroun) to Zemio, in eastern Central African Republic.
When Bonnie arrived, with their two young sons, by plane at Zemio C.A.R. they began the 9 months required to learn another language, Pazande.
They soon began a career of sharing the gospel and discipling African leaders in C.A.R., Dem. Rep. Congo, and Kenya.
Prior to their retirement, they through mobilizing and training future missionaries as Mission Mobilizers in the U.S.
Sam and Bonnie are both graduates of Trinity College of Florida. They have 4 adult children and 6 grandchildren.
Their life verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 and II Tim. 2:2.
