Harding, Steve and Angela - Relocation Project

Any move involves cost: fuel, house set up, etc. However, three days over bumpy rocks and sand dunes requires a few more ‘incidentals.’ A whole lot of bubble wrap or something like it to keep everything from shattering into bits just gets you started. This type of move in Kenya requires hiring a driver and renting a ‘lorry,’ a heavy duty moving truck that can handle carrying cargo off-road. The lorry isn’t the only thing that has to go off-road…so does your car. It will need to make this journey many times after the relocation. Living in a remote desert requires regular travel back to the city three days away for groceries, doctors appointments, automotive parts, etc. Outfitting a vehicle for rocky desert travel includes: new tires, new shocks, a roof rack, a steering guard, and any extra funds go towards an aftermarket A/C. Asking your kids to live in the desert without A/C is one thing; asking them to frequently drive in the desert for an extended time without A/C in the desert is another.... The ‘Are we there yet?’s could take on a whole new level intensity
