Village of Hope Kenya

The Village of Hope is a rescue and resource center for abused, outcast and impoverished women. The ministry was started by AIM missionaries Eddie and Rachel Andersen as part of their outreach among the unreached Gabbra people of Northern Kenya.Over 200 women live in the greater Dukana area as outcasts. “[This is a] huge issue caused by the cultural practice of casting out any raped woman and basically labeling her untouchable,” writes Eddie. “The center uses all means to help women and their children, sponsoring health care, food needs, and providing education for them. We are currently building a housing situation to attempt to host ten or more women at the mission station for in-depth training and care. We believe these women are meant to be image bearers of Jesus Christ and seek to speak His love and life into their hearts.”Resources are needed for construction of both housing and training facilities, food and other provisions, as well as staffing needs.
